An Audiovisual Training Initiative

Because of its many years of experience in preserving, studying and promoting quality films, the Bologna Cineteca is the natural place to establish a centre for highly specialized audiovisual training. Officinema. La bottega dei mestieri (Officinema: the trade workshop) is an initiative aimed at young people who want to enter the audiovisual world in Italy or abroad with competence and professionalism.

The Professional Objectives

There are three main objectives for Officinema. La bottega dei mestieri:

  • train highly qualified professionals, from technical, aesthetic and communicative perspectives.

  • develop local and national audiovisual production, making it more competitive on the international market and reinforcing its strong points.

  • contribute to the creation of a local production hub.

Specialization Areas

The courses are divided between two areas of specialization: production and editing. Production involves educating professionals specialized in audiovisual production in all its phases (from the development of an idea to the distribution of a finished product, including pitching technique). Editing involves educating professionals in the field of cutting and editing film, together with the basics of visual special effects and post-production audio.

Science + Art

During the workshops, practical exercises and screenings, each specialization course is always moving forward in two directions: both towards an in-depth understanding of individual technical and scientific aspects and towards a dialogue with diverse artistic contexts through a series of interdisciplinary lessons. Instructors include Giuseppe Bertolucci (director), Luca Bitterlin (production manager), Paolo Cottignola (editor), Luisa Grosso (director), Gian Luca Arcopinto (producer), Carlo Cresto-Dina (producer) and Fabio Bianchini (editor).
